Teacher Enrichment Programme at St. Aloysius High School

On 13th January 2024, CASK Centenary Trust organized a Teacher Enrichment Programme for 35 teachers of St. Aloysius High School, Urwa Parish. The event was aimed at empowering teachers with new skills and knowledge.

The programme started with a beautiful prayer song performed by the teachers. Mr. Aloysius D’Souza, the Headmaster, warmly welcomed everyone. Rev. Fr. Benjamin Pinto, the Correspondent, and Capt. Vincent Pais, President of CASK and Managing Trustee of the CASK Centenary Trust, also addressed the gathering. After these speeches, the traditional Lamp Lighting ceremony marked the official beginning of the programme.

The technical sessions began with an engaging video by Mansi Poddar, a renowned child psychologist. In the video, she shared her personal story of being bullied as a student by both teachers and classmates. Her life changed for the better due to the care and understanding of her 9th Standard teacher. This powerful story set the tone for the day.

The sessions were led by various expert resource persons:

Mindfulness & Self Enhancement as a Teacher – Patsy Lobo explained the importance of mindfulness and how teachers can enhance their personal well-being to improve their teaching.
How to be a Passionate & Inspirational Teacher & Career Guidance – Dr. Derek Lobo inspired teachers to bring passion into their classrooms and emphasized the critical role they play in guiding students in their career choices.
Personal Financial Planning – Mr. Archiebald Menezes provided valuable tips on managing personal finances, helping teachers plan for a secure future.
Media Literacy & Modern Communication – Ms. Vidya Shenoy discussed the importance of media literacy in today’s digital age and how teachers can effectively use modern communication tools.

The programme concluded with the Valedictory Session, where certificates were distributed to the participants. The Vote of Thanks was delivered, and the event was highly appreciated by the Headmaster and all the teachers who attended.

This enriching event left the teachers motivated and better equipped to inspire and guide their students.
